Volkswagen Tyres

For decades Volkswagen has chosen Goodyear tyres as original equipment (OE) and homologated tyres for their vehicles – from the Beetle to the Tiguan to the latest ID.3, the vehicles and the tyres they drive on have stood the test of time and wear.

Original Equipment tyres deliver optimised vehicle performance and ride, and as the driver’s only contact with the road surface, are a crucial component of the vehicle. Goodyear's Volkswagen OE tyres are fine-tuned to each vehicle chassis and built bespoke to the marque, model, type and specification of the vehicle. With over 120 years of refining and enhancing premium tyres and over 600 OE contracts with leading car manufacturers, you can trust our bespoke built tyres to retain your vehicle’s performance.

Volkswagen Tyre Pressure

Maintaining the correct tyre pressure is crucial in ensuring optimum tyre performance. All aspects of driving and tyre wear can be affected by under or over inflation – therefore it is fundamental to know your vehicle’s tyre pressure and monitor this at regular intervals. By driving with the correct tyre pressure your vehicle’s handling and traction will be optimised in all weather conditions and have a positive impact on braking distance and fuel efficiency.

The correct tyre pressure for your Volkswagen vehicle can be found in the vehicle handbook or visible on the inside of the driver’s side door.

Do I Need To Change All 4 Tyres?

Even though you may be a safe and smooth driver, there are times when the unpredictability of other traffic or road surfaces that may require you to break harshly or swerve – pushing the demands on your tyres. By fitting the same construction and pattern to both axels on your car aids equal handling.

Different patterns or brands of tyres can vary in height and the speed they roll due to their individual designs or state of wear. This can affect the performance or mechanics if the tyres are mixed.

Whilst there are no laws in the UK requiring all 4 tyres to be the same pattern, it is recommended to do so to provide equal performance to aid safe driving. If you are planning to drive abroad in your own car, it is worth researching laws of the countries you will be visiting or driving through as some do have laws on mixing tyre patterns.
