Christian Barbato Fleet Manager at Torello Trasporti, Italy

18% reduction in tyre management costs with Goodyear and Torello Partnership

The Torello Group is a prominent European logistics company with a specialised industrial vehicle maintenance arm, TN Service. They face the constant challenge of managing a large European fleet, ensuring efficient maintenance and prompt roadside assistance. To navigate these complexities, they sought a strategic partner to elevate their operational efficiency and drive tangible results.

As the Torello Group grew, so did the complexities of maintaining a fleet nearing 4,000 registered vehicles operating across Europe.

“Our primary challenges included technical, logistical, and maintaining sustainability goals,” Christian Barbato, fleet manager at Torello Trasporti, told us. “Coupled with the critical need for routine maintenance and rapid roadside assistance, particularly for breakdowns occurring abroad, we needed a comprehensive solution.”

  • Challenge: Efficiently managing the technical, logistical, and environmental aspects of a nearly 4,000-vehicle fleet operating across Europe, while also ensuring routine maintenance and prompt roadside assistance, especially for breakdowns abroad.

  • Solution: Implementation of Goodyear products and solutions, notably FleetOnlineSolutions and ServiceLine24, providing structured and consistent assistance across Europe and guaranteed 24/7 operations.

  • Result: An overall 18% reduction in tyre management costs between 2021 and 2024, and a 10% reduction in roadside interventions between 2024 and early 2025.

24/7 guaranteed operations

Introducing Goodyear products and services, particularly the FleetOnlineSolutions platform, proved to be a turning point in their tyre management strategy. “FleetOnlineSolutions provided us with structured and consistent assistance across Europe, and the assurance of 24/7 guaranteed operations, thanks to ServiceLine24’s 3,450 partner hubs,” added Barbato.

“The Goodyear collaboration also allowed us to increase our technical know-how in the field, working alongside Goodyear in developing and testing increasingly efficient solutions and strengthening our strategic partnership.”

A growing partnership

Since 2018, the collaboration has steadily grown, yielding concrete and measurable results for the entire Group. “We recorded an overall reduction in tyre management costs of 18% between 2021 and 2024,”  said Barbato.  “This significant saving is due to more efficient service planning and the shared assistance model afforded by FleetOnlineSolutions and ServiceLine24.”

Alongside the tyre cost savings, the integration of maintenance processes with Goodyear’s support led to a 10% reduction in roadside interventions between 2024 and early 2025.

“These results show that an advanced collaboration mode, where synergy across operations, technical assistance, and innovation, creates value in the entire chain,” said Barbato. "With Goodyear, we are not just clients, but partners in building a sustainable and intelligent mobility model," he concluded.

Sustainable and intelligent mobility

Goodyear's impact extends beyond immediate cost savings and breakdown reductions. “Our partnership is based on a collaborative model that emphasises building a sustainable and intelligent mobility framework for the future," said Barbato.

“A forward-thinking approach ensures our fleet not only operates efficiently today but is also well-equipped for the challenges and legislative demands that are coming down the road.”
