They’ve already seen a significant drop in incidents when out on the road, which has translated into savings for the fleet: “When the pressure drops too much, e.g., by one bar (depending on the setting), the driver is alerted. We’ve already had such experiences. In such cases, the driver immediately stops and replaces the tyre with a spare. The tyre remains undamaged. If we didn’t have Goodyear TPMS the tyre would be destroyed, and that costs money.”
The B.Makovec transport fleet has also discovered the benefits of Goodyear TPMS that go beyond simply pressure. Thanks to the system’s ability to measure temperature, the fleet has avoided some serious incidents on the road: ‘The app is a big advantage. We’ve had an incident where only one wheel on the vehicle locked up. The driver could never find it out on his own. There was a mechanical failure of the brakes and it would certainly lead to an explosion. Thanks to TPMS, we detected the problem in time and prevented serious consequences.”
