Around 38,000 vehicles are delivered across Europe by TransCAT Adriatic. This precious cargo needs to be delivered on time and in good condition, which is why Saša Marič, fleet manager at TransCAT Adriatic, has been working with Goodyear Total Mobility since 2015, using a variety of solutions.

This definitely helps me sleep more peacefully, as I know that we have a partner by our side whom we can rely on at any time.” But it was the value of another service – TPMS – that was recently and clearly demonstrated on a journey from Milan to Slovenia in 2019. “If a significant pressure drop or change in tyre temperature is detected, TPMS sends me an alert”, explains Saša. »This allows us to react immediately and communicate with the driver to prevent vehicle downtime and potential associated costs.

“Our vehicle was returning from France to Slovenia and somewhere halfway I received a pressure drop alarm. I immediately called the driver asking him to stop and check the condition of the tyre in question. The fault was diagnosed as a leaky valve so I told the driver to regulate the tyre pressure every hour, from Milan to Slovenia. In this case, thanks to TPMS, we certainly avoided undesirable vehicle downtime. Last but not least, we also avoided possible serious injuries, and material damage to the cargo. On an annual base, the costs of repairing material damage to the cargo in the transport of vehicles can arise in excess of €100,000. That is why any solution – such as Goodyear TPMS – contributing to the reduction of operation costs is more than welcome.”
