Krystian Tyksiński - Fleet Technical Manager at OMEGA Pilzno, Poland

1 hour - the time to taken to check the tyres of 50 vehicles

With a fleet of over 700 vehicles, OMEGA Pilzno is justifiably counted amongst the industry leaders. Having recently put into operation 50 new LNG-powered IVECO trucks, it also has the largest “Ecofleet” in Poland. But looking after this many vehicles, and ensuring they run with optimum efficiency, takes time and effort.

"We use fuel-efficient FUELMAX tyres and, along with other measures, they have helped us to significantly reduce fuel consumption and to cut CO2 emissions by up to 20%."

As Fleet Technical Manager, Krystian Tyksiński sees tyre management as a key factor in his fleet’s efficiency. “We use fuel-efficient FUELMAX tyres and, along with other measures, they have helped us to significantly reduce fuel consumption and to cut CO2 emissions by up to 20%.” In addition to choosing fuel-efficient tyres, he is also in constant contact with Goodyear to find other ways of maximising tyre operation.

In fact, the relationship with Goodyear doesn’t just save fuel – it also uses less manpower. “To inspect the tyres of our 50 “green” vehicles normally takes about 20 hours of continuous work.” explains Krystian. “But we use Goodyear CheckPoint instead, which measures key parameters such as tyre pressure, tread depth, axle load and total vehicle weight within seconds. This system will monitor our entire ECO Fleet within 1 hour!”
