At Goodyear, we frequently refer to independent testing bodies, magazines and auto clubs.

They independently test tires for an average of 15 key performance criteria, typically including:

  • Wet and dry handling and braking
  • Cornering grip
  • Durability
  • Fuel consumption
  • Internal noise
  • Aquaplaning

ÖAMTC (Der Österreichische Automobil-, Motorrad- und Touring Club)

The Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club was founded in 1896 and is an independent, non-profit organization.

Stiftung Warentest

This is a consumer foundation, based in Germany and dedicated to providing unbiased advice on all types of products. Their ratings have a powerful influence on consumer purchases across Europe.

Test World

Based in Lapland, Finland, this independent organization specializes in winter tires and car testing under winter conditions.

EU Standardised tire label

EU Tire Label ratings evaluate a tire based on three performance characteristics: fuel efficiency, wet grip and noise.

Goodyear engineers’ internal testing

Our own tests, run by Goodyear engineers, test tires against more than 50 performance parameters.
