Choosing the right tire
Goodyear produces families of tires for trucks, buses and coaches. Each range is optimized to meet the demands of all main specific user types and/or for specific requirements. Goodyear KMAX – on road tires for high mileage
The KMAX range of truck tires is for operators who want high mileage from their tires.
This range includes the KMAX S steer tire, KMAX D drive tire and KMAX T trailer tire. While these tires have been developed for high mileage, they still give excellent fuel consumption.
Goodyear FUELMAX – on road tires for fuel economy
FUELMAX is for those who want low fuel consumption. Comprising the FUELMAX S steer tire, FUELMAX D drive tire and FUELMAX T trailer tire, the low rolling resistance of these tires reduces fuel bills. FUELMAX also delivers on mileage.
Goodyear Omnitrac MS – for mixed service vehicles
Omnitrac MS tires are for trucks such as concrete mixers and tippers working in mixed service conditions. They are designed and developed specifically to meet the demanding needs of the construction industry and operators who encounter on and off road conditions. Enhanced mileage and traction with greater damage protection are the main customer benefits from the Omintrac MSS II steer tires, Omnitrac MSD II drive tires and Omnitrac MST trailer tires.
Goodyear Coach – for coaches
The Marathon Coach is Goodyear’s first ever dedicated coach tire. Specifically for modern coaches with sophisticated suspension systems, this tire is designed not only to help reduce cost per kilometer but also overcome the uneven tire wear that can be an issue. This is an all position tire.
Goodyear UrbanMax – for buses
The Goodyear UrbanMax MCA tire is an all position tire for buses. This tire is optimized for both high mileage and durability, with reinforced sidewalls to resist kerbing. The Goodyear UrbanMax MCD is a drive tire for wet and winter conditions.
No matter how good your tires are, it is the driver who can most influence the mileage and fuel consumption they return. For this reason we cannot strongly enough recommend regular driver training.
In order to maximize the performance of your truck tires, correct tire maintenance is essential. This not only means ensuring that the right pressures are maintained and regularly checked, but also that regrooving and retreading take place when necessary. Regrooving should be carried out by approved tire service centres such as TruckForce and Goodyear TreadMax retreads ideally used. Goodyear offers a wide range of services and solutions to its customers under the FleetFirst name.
