Choosing the right tire

The three criteria on the EU tire label are a good starting point and important when choosing a tire. However, the label does not provide information on all aspects related to the overall performance of a tire. When developing a new tire Goodyear EMEA* tests almost 50 criteria including the tire’s level of aquaplaning resistance, its dry and wet handling performance and its stopping distance on dry roads.
Information provided by the tire dealer and by independent testing centers will be an extra source of information when choosing a tire and manufacturers websites can also provide information on performance strengths of a specific tire.
Below you will find more detail on some of the performance criteria Goodyear uses in testing tires.
