Tyres that will keep your car running after a puncture or blow out
RunOnFlat technology is exactly as it sounds – it allows your car to keep on running after a puncture or blowout. Even when the tyre is completely deflated, you can keep on going for a minimum of 80 km at 80 km/h.
When a conventional tyre gets a puncture, the sidewalls collapse and continuous driving forces the tyre to detatch from the wheel rim, causing it to quickly overheat. The result is a lack of control in steering and braking.
Goodyear RunOnFlat tyres, however, have special inserts to support the sidewalls if the tyre loses air. These bend as required to distribute the forces of compression and tension caused by the car’s weight, even if the tyre has totally deflated.

What does it mean?
The tyre section width is the linear distance in millimetres between the outside of the sidewalls of an inflated tyre excluding elevations due to labelling (markings), decorations, or protective bands or rims.
What does it mean?
Section height is half the difference between the overall diameter and the nominal rim diameter. In the course of tyre history the shape of the tyre has changed from an almost circular tyre to flatter, wider tyres. This has changed the relationship or aspect ratio (A/R) of the tyre section height to the section width from 100% to 70%, 60%, 50%, and even lower.

Load indices and speed symbols are shown on both tyre sidewalls. The first number denotes the tyre load carrying capacity in SINGLE application, while the second number refers to DUAL fitment.
M+S (winter/4x4) tyres with a lower speed rating than that of the vehicle may be fitted. In some countries it is mandatory that a sticker be placed in the view of the driver indicating the maximum speed of the tyre.
This speed may not be exceeded while these tyres are fitted.

The SPEED SYMBOL denotes the maximum speed at which a given tyre can carry the load indicated by the load index. Only those tyres with a minimum speed rating as shown in the vehicle papers may be used on the vehicle. Not valid for V, W, Y, Z.
What does it mean?
The maximum load capacity is indicated by the Load Index. The scale below shows the relationship between the Load Index (LI) and actual load values in kilograms (kg).
