Goodyear KMAX Tyres Cut Mega Service’s Costs

Winter performance is also a winner for the Russian company

The Russian transport company Mega Service LLC has tested Goodyear´s KMax truck tyres and has now decided to fit only Goodyear KMax tyres going forward as a result of their high mileage, low fuel consumption good winter performance, and the availability of retread versions.

“Goodyear is the most effective and serviceable tyre brand today,” said Anatolij Sytnik CEO of Mega Service LLC following his profitable experience with Goodyear KMax truck tyres. “In comparison with other brands, Goodyear is the most effective and serviceable option out there today. Goodyear provides us with a good retreading service, which is very important. We have a lot of experience in tyre usage and prefer to buy new generation Goodyear tyres. Goodyear tyres are profitable for our company, because we spend less money on buying tyres and they can be retreaded.” Mega Service operates 70 vehicles comprising MAN, DAF, Volvo and Iveco as well as Kögel, Schmitz and Krone trailers. They operate international and regional transport predominately in Russia, Finland and the Baltic countries.

“We use our trucks not only in Russia but also in Europe. Our annual mileage is 150,000 kilometers, said Sergej Shirokov, Mega Service’s Chief Engineer. “Most of our trucks have Goodyear tyres fitted as Original Equipment. Since we've been using them, we've only ever received positive feedback because the tyres require minimum attention. We're very happy with the quality, mileage and fuel economy of these tyres. We're also able buy the new Goodyear KMax line as replacement tyres which is important.”

Not surprisingly operating in the areas it does, good winter performance is essential to Mega Service. A MAN TGS 18.400 fitted with 315/70R22.5 KMAX S steer tyres, 315/70R22.5 KMAX D drive tyres and 385/65R22,5 KMAX T trailer tyres was driven by Nokolaj Shatrov. He said, “I have been a driver for many years and I have a lot of experience. I have used different truck tyres but my view is Goodyear tyres are the best – stable and with good grip on wet and icy roads. Especially when you are in a traffic jam and it snows, and you have to start on a hill - the grip is wonderful and the start is smooth.”
