EU tyre label: Overview

The new EU tyre label is designed to help commercial vehicle operators make an informed choice when buying new tyres. From 1st November 2012, each new truck tyre in Europe will be accompanied by ratings for fuel efficiency, wet grip and noise emissions. Explore the links below to find out more.

Fuel Efficiency

Fuel Efficiency

A measure of the tyre’s rolling resistance, which has a direct impact on fuel consumption. Rated from A (highest rating) to F (lowest rating).

Wet Grip

A measure of the tyre’s braking ability on wet roads. Rated from A (highest rating) to F (lowest rating).

Noise

A measure of the external noise generated by the tyre, in decibels. The black sound waves indicate the noise class of the tyre, from 1 (quiet) to 3 (loud).

Where can I find the EU tyre ratings?

Tyre dealers must provide EU tyre ratings to buyers at the time of purchase, by including the information on the receipt or on a separate note.

EU ratings are also displayed for each tyre on our website.
