Aquaplaning test

The aquaplaning resistance of a tyre can be accurately quantified on a special test track. When the front wheel of the testing vehicle reaches a certain speed in the water trough, it begins to float and then spin due to the applied engine torque.

Open Tread Design

To assure maximum tyre to road contact on wet roads, the new OptiGrip tread has been optimised for aquaplaning resistance. The open tread design and the wide circumferential tread grooves, facilitate efficient water dispersal from the tyre contact area.

Competitive Comparison

In comparison to two leading competitors the new OptiGrip aquaplaning resistance is excellent.
